Testimonials for Amba Yoga

I came across Amba’s classes at a time when I was looking to develop my personal practice. As a yoga teacher myself, it is nice to be on the receiving end! I knew after the first class that I had found a real gem with Amba. Her style of teaching incorporates mindfulness with self compassion, which is very much in line with my ethos and what I wanted from my practice. She teaches with such grace and encourages self exploration and kindness, rather than just leading people through a series of postures. Her authenticity and love for yoga shines through her teaching. I would highly recommend Amba! DR Lauren Kita

Amba’s classes are fantastic! she made us all feel so welcome and cared for. Amba has taught me yoga during both of my pregnancies and I really felt my body get strong and flexible leading up to my births. In combination with all of the lovely breathing and relaxation techniques we learned, I felt very well equipped for birth. I went on to have 2 easeful home births and I know that yoga with Amba played a big part in preparing my mind and body to do so. Amba’s classes are also lots of fun and a great way to make new friends as she creates a lovely community spirit within each class. Enjoy! x Daniella R

I started pregnancy yoga with Amba when I was 24 weeks pregnant. As the weeks progressed, I grew more confident and comfortable in my ever changing body and saturdays mornings were soon the highlight of my week. We rehearsed and practised breathing techniques, active labour positions and exercises that would ease the aches and pains of pregnancy. If you were to ask me the one tip I would give to mummy’s to be, it would be to attend pregnancy yoga. I have met some great friends for life through our little Saturday morning yoga classes and I had an incredible pregnancy and labour experience. I cannot thank Amba enough for giving me the confidence, strength and belief in myself to have the little boy that I have today! Becca H

I’ve been going to Amba’s classes since I was 14 weeks pregnant (now 33 weeks). Really love my Saturday morning – the class always makes me feel great! Amba is a brilliant teacher and the classes are really friendly and supportive. Shore studio is in a stunning location too – overlooking the sea! Would definitely recommend…100% x Suzi H

Fantastic class by the lovely Amba! working through breathing techniques, birthing positions and overall prenatal health and wellbeing, the classes are very relaxed and friendly and I would highly recommend them to any one throughout their pregnancy. Mel W

I really enjoyed attending Amba’s classes whilst I was pregnant. The class helped me to consider breathing techniques and positions I could use during labour. It was also a very special time to bond with the growing babe in my tummy and to have some ‘me time’ to relax. The views from the studio are beautiful! thanks Amba x Jessica A

I went to Amba’s class from 14 to 40 weeks pregnant. It became such a special, relaxing time to focus and bond with my growing baby, amidst a hectic week. Fantastic mixture of new postures and breathing techniques each week with lots of repetition, which meant I easily remembered and was able to use lots of what I practiced during labour. Will always remember Amba and this special time with such fondness! Abaigh D

Wessex Independent Midwives highly recommend Amba’s classes and we suggest to all our clients that they attend.

Amba is a very experienced, sensitive and kind teacher with a lovely, calm nature. All of us 3 midwives at Wessex Independent Midwives have noticed that the women who have attended Amba’s classes are very calm in labour, and have learned how to breathe through contractions beautifully. Whatever kind of birth they have, whether at home or in hospital, they have been able to remain calmly using all that they have learned.

The physical aspect of yoga means that mums are more flexible and supple and able to use positions to help their baby be born easily. We have sometimes been happily surprised at how short the labour has been!

Its also a lovely way to get to know other mothers in the area and often mums link up and stay friends for years as their children grow up.
