This breath practice helps you access the relaxation response by extending the exhale or out breath. It is helpful during pregnancy to de-stress and can be used during heightened times of anxiety and stress to find calm and focus. It can also be extremely helpful during the first stage of labour and during resting periods. It may be adapted in more active labour but may become shorter during this phase, helping to manage intense sensations and breathe through contractions or surges. It is also an antidote postnatally to de stress and find balance.
